Headed back to mah hometown the very next day after finals. Independent as always, woke up, grabbed my bags and took a cab and boarded the earliest bus down. Didn't want to depend on anyone cause I know there'd be delays and I wanted to be home as quickly as possible. Oh it was a surprise for mom too. She had no clue I was coming back and thanks to Dad and Christy for the help, she was completely taken aback by my presence. :D
Celebrated Mother's Day a day earlier cause Christy had to head back to Subang the next day. Dinner over at TGI Friday's. Got mom beautiful carnations too!

Aunt's creative work |
Went into SIN city with aunt for a few days' stay over at cousin's playing babysitter. Took a bus down to Orchard by myself and roamed around and no roaming on my phone. Proud achievement.

Decided to make mille crepe too. Prepared the batter and custard cream a day before. Seriously, making this was no mean feet. Hardest part was separating 6 egg yolks from the whites and flipping those crepes. Took me an hour to complete those crepes. It had to be thin and they were vulnerable to tears when flipping them.
Cream turned out too runny and the whole cake actually slipped to one side before refrigerating it. But it turned out fine after a good cool in the fridge. Crepes turned out more yellowish than the standard ones cause I used kampung eggs instead of normal ones.
But it was all worth it when you slice it open and find that the layers are stacked beautifully with the cream. While cutting it, I was actually nervous; afraid that it wouldn't turn out well after hours of hard work. Dad praised me for doing a beautiful job but told me not to make it again cause he saw how tedious this mille crepe was done.
After a day of baking and cooking, had to doll up to attend a charity dinner by uncle's church. Was reluctant to go but since it was a charity event and uncle already booked a table, I made the effort to turn up for it. Well at least I got to see my little cousin perform on stage and enjoy the beautifully blown saxophone by a famous Taiwanese musician!
Lunch with mom today at Lavender before picking bro up from school. Wanted to try Ah Piaw but it wasn't open :( Oh and I went from brunette to black again! Back to basics after 2 years of colouring my hair.
Helped mom bake banana muffins today too. Seriously love baking cause I'm a sucker for desserts. :B Enjoy measuring the ingredients, whisking, folding in but hate the cleaning and washing up part! Most importantly is enjoying the results of it and that satisfaction when you succeed. Not forgetting the praises and smiles you get from others too!
SG trip post with the girls up next! Night! Xx
