CNY 2013

Being away from home, scrolling through Facebook feed, instagram seeing pictures of everyone having their reunion dinner, dolling up for CNY isn't that bad when you have a great bunch here to celebrate together. But nothing can be compared to being close to your family on this festive period.
Skype session while receiving my virtual angpows

Sis whatsapped me this picture to taunt me :(
Showing off my fav pineapple tarts
Virtual gambling!

Headed to town for dinner on the first day of CNY with the coursemates at this pretty restaurant, Wong's. Love the oriental decorations and the ambience though food wasn't to my liking. Before that, first visit to Gala casino where I won 2.50 in blackjack lol. Oh well, better than losing or nothing.

F4? :P
Mom made me bring my cheongsam along and finally got to put it to good use!
What kind of reluctant face is that?!
Looks like the royal maid and the emperor lol.

Karaoke at HK diner after that!
UWE organised a dinner for us on the 13th at Zen harbourside, this time with most of the coursemates and uni students. Food was blergh but the company made it worthwhile together with performances by our own friends.

Missing Han Pin!
Wendy performing When you say nothing at all and In your arms.
Adrian, Szen, Leewee

Bestie who's half drunk?
People at our table for the night
Mini dinner with the law students at our flat hosted by Christy our masterchef for the night! Drinking session and card game after that got everyone crazeeeeeeeeeeee. You wouldn't wanna drink the concoction in the bottle in the middle of the table! A mixture of wine, cider and water, ughhhh.

CNY ended with a chap goh meh dinner last night at our place. Whipped up chicken rice while Ryan and Christy made kungpow chicken with tomyam, Szen stir fried vegetables while Yench made baked potato with kale.

Trip to Middle Temple, London post up next! X

Cooking

Food in UK's not cheap so I haven't been eating out much, ate out less than 8 times since I've been here for almost a month. Cooking's a better option cause there's so much fresh ingredients here and it's quite cheap? But it's a hassle to get Asian ingredients like pandan leaves, oyster sauce, chilli padi and etc. I miss my kailan! They actually don't have it here so we've been gorging on broccoli, mushroom, spinach, potatoes and asparagus everyday.

Seriously, we have mushrooms for every meal till we're growing spores all over our body. Lol kidding. I really like cooking though I haven't been cooking much in Malaysia but I'm forced to do so here.

Le girls are back!

This week: meet up with the girls who are back from UK and Melbourne; being Jenny and Vanessa. The last time we met was.....CNY and I can't remember when's the last time I met Vanessa. Quiet half of the beginning week I had, being home alone as the rest were still in JB. Had to be independent and had some alone time bringing the car for a wash, grocery shopping, pool visits and cooking!

Blue top to match le Monday blues.

Look what I found during grocery shopping! Are they cute or what!

My favourite grocery places would be Village Grocer or Ben's Independent Grocer as they offer much more variety though things are slightly more expensive.

Grocery haul and Boost's gym junkie

Made dinner: Aglio olio with tuna, tomatoes and parmesan.

Skin pampering time!

Watching ironman while waiting for le car to be washed. Good service eh? This place's in Damansara Perdana btw.

Post workout meal!

Bak kut teh at Jalan Ipoh; times where loneliness are gone.

My addiction; these spice grinders! Get so excited seeing them and would love to grind it anytime. :D

What my younger sister got me during her trip to Sg when I bought her a bagful of snacks the other time. What rubbish is this. =.= Nevertheless, it's my favourite candy where you can only get it in Sg!

Delivered breakfast!

Met up with le girls at Publika and decided to have dinner at The Bee! Thanks to the cheapo Wendy we got discounted price for our meals! ;)

The hottie Lee Wen Li!

Define crazy? Jenny Chai. :P

From the Melbourne side: Vanessa Lee

Le popular and famous girl who now appears on Pentax ads and Lipton commercials: Wendy Boo!

'

Cobb salad

Australian burger

Chicken avocado salad; bad choice for us cause we couldn't stand goat's cheese

Swiss mushroom sandwich: the best of the day

Jenny who's back from UK ordered fish and chips twice when in Malaysia. Lol.

Received my first official cheque from work! :DDDDD

Statutory audit in le meeting room.

Met up with the girls minus Wendy again the next day for pork curry! T'was so good! A curry based version of bak kut teh with dried chilli but not your typical curry dish. In other words, it's a unique taste.

Sinful goodness

Chilled at some place in Bandar Menjalara and taught the girls how to tie the hair bun thanks to sis who came up with it. The trick to va va voom hair! ;)

Instax of the day. Inception? O.O

Moved out from le hostel the next day, didn't know I had so much stuff. Dumped so much stuff and felt exceptionally guilty for throwing all my notes. :/

Goodbye. Fun and depressing times in this puny room with my crazy roommate Wendy. A place that held so much memories: heart-breaking ones to joyful ones. 2 and a half years in this tiny room, it's time to bid au revoir.
And I'll miss this beautiful campus. Goodbye Taylor's.

Klang bkt for lunch!

Treated the people who helped me move my stuff to lunch. This came up to 100 bucks =.= Overpriced seriously.

Time to head to bed now, work again tomorrow. Can't wait for the weekend to come again! Till then.
