Parked at Pavilion and went off to Changkat for a drink before deciding to join the others at Ampang Lookout Point. Heard that it's a really romantic place for couples on top of a hill. Road blocks everywhere, but made it to the top before midnight. Enjoyed the view for a bit before counting down and heading back home.
Seems pretty lifeless but I had fun. Never in my life did I counted down to Merdeka. For a couple of years, we would go to the East Coast during Merdeka. Somehow we stopped going on trips as we would like to go overseas instead of local trips every year. But dad never liked the thought of the whole family being in the same aeroplane. He never really approved of us flying. Some old fashioned thought. He'd use the excuse of us to earn our own money and go wherever we want instead of using his own money. It's never the problem of money, when he can spend as much money travelling locally.
The mere mention of going to Sabah even turns him off. Sabah = local so why not? Then again it's the flying problem.

Happy 53rd birthday Malaysia!
