Mediteca Wine Tapas KL

Wayyyyy overdue but drafted this post 2 months ago and decided to post this cause I came across the photos in my phone and I think it deserves a proper post. Heh.

Was invited to give a food tasting at Mediteca before its official opening thanks to sis' friend who co-owns the place if I'm not mistaken. Dolled up and headed there around 8.30pm.

Greeted by their friendly staff, we were ushered to a seat of four and was handed the menu. One of their staff recommended their specialties and explained the food items in detail to us on those that we weren't sure of. Settled with a few appetizers and mains and was served cheese sticks and bread before our food was served.

Really enjoyed the cheese sticks but not the bread as it wasn't warm. Their olive oil and vinegar was served in spray bottles instead; plus one for uniqueness but not so much for practicality. Was kind of worried that it would spray out all over but thankfully it didn't. I still prefer the traditional poured out on a plate and dip kind.

Bread sticks

Fig and foie gras
Tomato broth
3 entrees of octopus
Beef tenderloin
Bacalhau
Baked fish
Beef cheeks
Goat's cheese salad
120 days aged beef hammon
Spanish creme brulee
Mango yoghurt
Fruit salad
Rice pudding

Went home feeling bloated and happy. My favourites were the goat's cheese salad though I'm personally not a fan of goat's cheese but it had a twist to it, beef cheeks and the fruit salad. Can't wait to go back to Malaysia and go back for more! Though I know UK has so much better food here. :P
